Since August 09 Saturn’s presence in your opposite sign has caused you to revise your views of personal relationships and consider more practical and long-term prospects. This theme will continue in the background throughout 2010 however the main focal point for January will be your career. Not just your day to day job or routine, but how you project yourself in what you are doing and whether your current arena is a suitable springboard for the fulfilment of your ambitions.

January tends to be a hardworking month for Aries usually anyway, at a time when energy is often in reserve, the indefatigable Aries spirit reigns supreme.

Whilst the year begins with a burst of energy this will turn to frustration come 3rd Jan, as Mars your ruler clashes with intense all or nothing Pluto. Try to think before you act during the first few days of the month; you will have a great deal of impact, so it is wise to use this carefully. Towards the end of the week the storms will calm and you will be more tactful.

The 11th is a good day for conversations at work as others will be more receptive to your needs, this excellent opportunity to deal tie up any loose ends will continue and be at it’s most potent on the 15th, when the New Moon connects to Venus. However it is unwise to make long-term decisions or changes during a Mercury Retrograde period, so try to post pone these if you can until after the 18th by which time Mercury will have gathered speed again.

You have an all or nothing approach to life at the moment, as you have been forced to express your stronger qualities. Those born in the first few days of Aries (21st March to 26th March) will have felt under great pressure since Autumn and will by now have begun to develop a tougher exterior through necessity.

Jupiter’s entry into Pisces on 18th will mark the beginning of a more introspective 12 months. Now is an excellent time to take up yoga, meditation, tai chi or any other practise which helps you tune into your inner self. This desire to delve deeper into the depths of your psyche will continue throughout the year.

The final week or so of the year will feel more social and you will be spending more time with your friends again. With the Moon in your own sign over the weekend of 22nd and 23rd your gregarious side is likely to surface, so these are the best dates in January for a celebration and/or get-together.

The month does end on a tense note, I recommend making few plans for 31st January as the uncertainty in the air increases the likelihood of the inexplicable. Things are unlikely to go smoothly and disputes and arguments are probably, especially those due to misunderstandings and knee jerk reactions. Try to keep things light and uncomplicated on this weekend!
