Saturn moves into Scorpio ~5th October 2012~

Saturn moved into Libra in October 2009 and apart from a brief retrograde sojourn back to Virgo between April 2010 – July 2010 has remained there since, until yesterday.  At 9:35pm GMT on 5th October Saturn moved into Scorpio to begin a brand new 2.5 year phase.

 Saturn transits are about testing us; whether we are willing to sew effectively and tenaciously in order to reap, are we putting the hours and dedication in?  Are we behaving in a genuine fashion, are we committed, mature, able, resilient?  Whilst in Libra,  Saturn raised more issues with the judicial and legal system, showed imbalances in Government, exposed areas of weakness where fast fix solutions have been used rather than planning and tenacity.  Saturn in Libra also showed up the falseness, projected by those who rely on charisma and charm, rather than substance, genuine intelligence and talent.

Now with Saturn moving into Scorpio it is time for the Fixed signs (Scorpio, Taurus, Aquarius, Leo) to experience a new lesson and as a result develop a new skill or facet to their characters.Scorpio is associated with other people’s money, sex, death, life changing experiences, deep truths, secrets and hidden abilities (including mediumship and psychic work).  Not only will these areas be focussed upon in the media over the next 2.5 years, they will also analysed, dissected and altered.

Expect a new focus and funding to be injected into sexual health, and fear mongering stories in the press as a precursor to this.  Public figures will be admitting affiliations with psychic work /and the consultation of those who communicate with the other side and there will be negative responses to this initially.  In the background Neptune beginning again at 0 Pisces is encouraging a new wave of deeper spirituality to manifest alongside this process.  All that will be uncovered and contested during Saturn's transit in Scorpio will aid this overall process, it just won't be immediately apparent.

Cardinal signs (Libra, Aries, Cancer, Capricorn) will all have experienced testing times during the last 2.5 years.  If you have more planets (than your Sun) in a cardinal sign it could have been a life changing period for you, exemplified by the area (house) in which these planets fall in your chart.

Scorpio is the sign which "it's has to get worse before it's better" was written for.  All is scrutinised suspiciously and thoroughly, as one would regard mouldy cheese when encountering it for the first time.  Scorpio likes worth to be proved and believes that one must state and prove their innocence before they are trusted.  There will be great issues with trust during this period, financial establishments will begin lending and offering more support to businesses again but the imbalance which occurred before in these areas will not be repeated.  The public has become more savvy and less manipulable.  

There will be some findings over the next few years in medical science and finally the importance of mental, spiritual and emotional health will begin to be factored into how illness is regarded.  It will be many years before doctors and hospitals have the time, knowledge and resource to work with the cause of ill health, rather than dealing with just the symptoms but the younger qualified physicians will begin to integrate this ethos into their work.  More evidence will show the effects of stress and lifestyle shortcuts have on physical health and whole foods will start to become more popular.  More businesses focussing on health will start to open once Saturn establishes itself in Scorpio.

This is going to be a period where honesty is valued and respected.  Dark humour, cutting sarcasm and stark realities will be portrayed and appreciated more.  Films will depict more true stories of difficult realities and light hearted, feel good dramas will not be so prevalent.

Politically there will be more need for those in power to be honest and follow through with their policies.  The public will be less tolerant and will expect a little sincerity and fairness.  Activism is likely to be more common as the individual decides, once again that their view is important too.  Those of you who have children; consider what traits you would wish them to take with them through life.   Show them the behaviour which you would like them to adopt throughout life.  

Learn to be honest with yourself and Saturn in Scorpio will be a very interesting time.
