The Eclipse Season ~~ January 2019

The year begins on a sombre tone, celebrations will be tamer and less elaborate than usual. There may be some how can ignore the Sun meeting up with Saturn from 1st to 3rd January, in fact indulging in excess is possibly only way to avoid it. So, those prone to extremes, may be more so, but overall most will have their eye on the year ahead, with the consideration of how to make it a productive and successful one.

It could be my own eyes, from my environment, but it seemed that 2018 was a particularly difficult year for most. Whether we can consider that to be a result of both Saturn and Pluto being in Capricorn, and the fact that Chiron in early Aries was having a little show down with Saturn for a large part of the year, it's hard to say. Maybe having 6 months of the year taken down by inner planet retrogrades; with Venus and Mars adding to Mercury's regular backward parade, also played a large part in slowing down progress and enjoyment for many.

{PS – if any of you really loved 2018 and had a great year, I would be very interested to hear about it – please do email me at: waxlobster@hotmail.com}

The first Eclipse of the year will be at 1:29am on Sunday 6th January – as always it will effect those with a birthday falling around this date the most, or those whose birthday is at the opposite end of the zodiac; around 8th July (give or take a couple of days either side). The is a New Moon eclipse and a partial Solar Eclipse (mostly visible in Russia) which signifies new beginnings.

This will be a very interesting year for those who have planets affected by 15'25º Capricorn, particularly those who begin their year at this time (if your birthday is around 6th January).

The Sun and Moon fall close to Saturn at 12º Capricorn and close enough to Pluto at 20º Capricorn, this is, in effect a taste of what is to come later, as these planets dancer closer together and then step apart once more. They don't actually meet up in the sky until year 2020 and it's fair to expect all manner of change when they do.

As this particular eclipse links up the chasm between them in the sky, there will be a sense of change in the air. A nice aspect to Neptune in Pisces softens the energy and gives a kind of ambitious flavour to the week. Although there is a feeling that fate and destiny are irrevocable forces, Neptune brings the potential for dreams, creativity and the imagination to provide an uplifting outlet. When WW2 broke Saturn and Pluto were in an exact aspect – a hard square – those who lived through this time will talk about how this time brought out the best in people though too.

In a world which has been racing into a materialistic, technological age, in which the rich and poor divide is once more becoming more pronounced, something does need to give. There are all manner of possible eventualities and ways that big changes are due over the next 2 years, but I think there is a sense of inevitability about the fact that they will occur.

The last time Saturn and Pluto met up in this manner; was in 1982 in Libra and I think it's fair to say that this marked the beginning of capitalism as we now know it. The start of 'the throwaway society' when things began to be made with less artistry and integrity, so that they could be more quickly replaced and profited upon. What kind of an era will be see the beginning of 2020? Well I shall look deeper into that later in the year, in the meantime know that the planets show change, but it's the people on the planet who dictate the kinds of change that will occur….

As an interesting side note, the last time Saturn and Pluto met up in the same sign; Capricorn, it was 1518. The treaty of London at this time created a peace union between all the countries in Europe and a promise to defend one another against attacks from other Empires! This time around we have Brexit….

The second January eclipse takes place on Monday 21st January at 5:16am, with the Sun having moved into Aquarius the previous day, this eclipse falls at 0'51 Leo. So all of you Leos who are born on the first day of your sign (over the cusp from Cancer) will definitely feel this quite intensely!

On the plus side, energy will be high during this Full Moon. Venus and Jupiter will be having a jolly old time in Sagittarius, lifting spirits, encouraging the more upbeat and brighter side of life is appreciated. Jupiter is all about fun and laughter on the upside, and congenial, peacemaking Venus does tend to bring out this side in Jupiter, especially whilst traversing through the sign of Sagittarius which Jupiter rules and correlates to.

There is, however also a square to Mars in Aries in the mix here. Now if you wanted to do something daring, random and sporty, this is a great time to most enjoy such an activity. If though, you are in more restrained environment, hoping that disputes don't break out and tempers don't flare….well I'm afraid you'll need to wish hard. Mars is Aries is fast, reactive and armed with great energy and drive. Jupiter in Sagittarius, is over opinionated, zealous and can be quite combative. There is only so much Venus can mitigate with pleasantries when there is a Full Moon in the mix also.

This eclipse could bring about some explosive energy, Uranus about to leave Aries for the final time, may well wish to make it's mark through fire and intensity. It is at a square to the eclipse point and there is a potential for; natural disasters, uprisings and disputes on small and large scales to come about as a result of this eclipse.

It is important to note that eclipses can be activated for up to 6 months before and after their events. Planets touching on the areas in the sky where the eclipse falls at all time in coming months, could re-activate them. So, for this one in particular, when Mars makes a square to the 0'51 Leo point from 0'51 Taurus, we could find that all that I cited above is reactivated for a day or so. Sometimes the reactivation points are stronger, so 15th and 16th February 2019 could be dates to be cautious. Days to lie low, book in a massage, or cosy time this weekend perhaps.

Overall it is rather an intense beginning to the year. The New Year always begins with the Sun in Capricorn but this year, having the two heavy weights (Saturn and Pluto) traversing up and down, activating eclipses and hitting the personal planets makes it all a whole lot more intense.

For those of you who are ambitious and want to make waves in your career, there is a good potential in fact in these areas. Things are a little more rigid and conservative, but hard work is more notably rewarded at this time also.

Jupiter in Sagittarius suggests a more global approach at this time. Travel is not necessary for the world to connect up any more. New areas of commerce and different ways of trading are increasing in popularity and will continue trending when Uranus moves back into Taurus on 6th March 2019. Think outside the box, or if you're more like me ~~~burn the box!

The Eclipse Season – July and August 2018

The total lunar eclipse on 27th July 2018 marks the beginning of a rollercoaster of change and intensity.

Since 27th June this year we have been in a Mars Retrograde period which has forced us all to slow down, look within and deal with unresolved issues from the past. Whereas a Mercury retrograde period will affect technology, communication, transport (and traffic) and force to revise our thoughts and ideas, Mars is quite different.

During Mars retrograde we have to look at the make up of our egos. In a sense you could bring it down to the basics by saying love vs fear. We all need our ego to remind us to have boundaries and a sense of self in the modern world, but when the ego takes control in any area of the personality it often loses touch with the true soul purpose.

We can always get back to our inner truths by focusing on being love centred and working on our self love, but this requires regular mindfulness and meditation. In reality most of us start to attach with certain elements of fear/ego driven behaviours and focal points through habit and influence.

The lunar eclipse on 27th July 2018 marks the almost exact midpoint of the Mars retrograde period (which completes on 28th August at 28 Capricorn) and it also falls within one degree of Mars which will be at 4 Aquarius at this point. Those of you born between 21st and 27th January will feel this eclipse very personally, along with those of you who have a birthday around this time (meaning your Leo Sun is affected personally also).

As this Moon-Mars opposite Sun configuration is also very close to an exact square from Uranus in Taurus there could be some very surprise events occur at this point. Whenever Uranus comes into the mix we have to allow for the unexpected as it rules; revolution, rebellion, change and the unexpected. There is always a spark of genius and humour with Uranus though, this doesn't bring foreboding change, rather changes which uplift. It's those who follow routine and order who are upset by Uranus, but on a higher level it naturally brings about its own sense of order. For those of you who have worked with Cosmic ordering, you will be aware that Uranus is the ignition that you can use to help you bring about big changes in focal areas of manifestation.

So, whilst this eclipse may bring about change that appears to be unwarranted, it can also be used as an impetus to help create what you really want in your lives. Mars retrograde has being showing us where our egos have been holding us back, tripping us up and clouding our inspiration. Meditating on this full moon can help hone this energy to clear out old behavioural patterns, fears and other blockages in a ~conscious~ manner, to begin to prepare for a very exciting and productive Autumn.

Mercury will turn retrograde the day before this eclipse, so looking inward will continue to be the theme for the coming weeks. Introspection is key, try not to have too many distinct plans at this time, they will fall through. With the Uranus aspect to this full moon and both Mercury and Mars retrograde, going with the flow and learning to surrender control will definitely make life a lot easier. Trying to control anything (or anyone!) at this time will create arguments, anger, conflict and further delays.

Anyone with planets around 2 degrees of any of the signs will feel the complications in early August. With Chiron at 2 Aries, Saturn moving back from 3 to 2 Capricorn, Mars passing 2 Aquarius and Uranus at 2 Taurus, and stationing retrograde here for almost 3 months, there is a lot of activity. This is personal, there are big changes to any planets at this position, all will be in the crossfire of complicated and supportive aspects.

Do you have any planets at 2 degrees of the signs? Would you like me to take a look at how the current planetary positions can be used for growth, rather than angst? Contact me at: waxlobster@hotmail.com

The next Eclipse is a solar eclipse and will take place on 11th August 2018 at 18'41 Leo, so this will affect those with a birthday around this time and also those born from around 4th to 8th February, 9th to 13th November and 7th to 12th May the most.

Mercury is in on the act here, and sat close to the new Moon (conjunction of Sun and Moon) Eclipse point, as if to reiterate the reminder that Mars made during the previous eclipse. Mercury isn't quite at the middle point of its retrograde cycle, but it seems to want to affirm the messenger's messages to us by highlighting its journey backwards through Leo. An edgy aspect to Pluto shows again that trying to rise above controlling behaviour is one of this Summer's underlying growth points.

Whether we are looking at the hierarchical societal structures which trap and confine us, or the oppressive hand to mouth existence of living in debt that so many find ourselves in; these kinds of themes may loom over us oppressively at this point. Or perhaps we are being shown our own fear-based behaviours which cause us to stay stuck in patterns which do not suit us, or interactions with others which have gotten into loops of control drama and stagnation.

All of these themes will be poignantly exposed during the middle of August. Where the eclipse falls in your own personal chart will show more about how/what and where. The chances are you will already have a fairly good idea of what makes you feel suppressed and confined in your life at the moment. Things only reach a head when we have out grown them, or have ignored their negative influence for long enough for intervention to become necessary.

It's important to try to look at these times as growth periods, rather that resisting and fighting the patterns of nature, it is better to yield and allow change. Often the difficult times are where we clear out all the blockages so that the magic and joy can follow.

The heaviness of these themes does indicate some political and social flux too, things will seems unsettled overall during August. The weak spot at 2 degrees of the signs will impact wherever it falls. I'm not an astrologer who works with the charts of countries but if I was I would mention that the great instability of the UK at the moment is due to Pluto being opposite the Moon of the UK chart and having recently crossed the Sun in the chart also chart!

{For details: http://www.astro.com/nat/natuk2_e.htm}

By the end of August things will look very different for us all. This is going to be a complicated month, but it is also an adventure, a learning curve and a great opportunity to grow. Those who have had ideas and projects that have been neglected recently may well suddenly find the time to go back to these. The great thing about retrograde periods, is that it's excellent for study, revising previous projects and completing them properly and it's also an opportunity to have a rest and really catch up on leisure time.

It may be a complex period emotionally, but it will also be one that can be regenerative and restorative. For some this will be a very healing experience, others will need to go through and unblock a fair few areas in order to allow the healing, but it's worth doing so.

September will feel like a new year, enjoy the hot Summer of growth in the meantime.

Leo, Virgo & Libra Forecast ~~April, May & June 2018

Leo Horoscope - April to June 2018

Fortunately the month begins at the Easter holidays, because all I'm picking up from you right now Leo, is that all you want to get out there, holiday, explore and escape this humdrum. We're all feeling that in our own way though, as Mars meets up with Saturn, giving all that dull, routine, unimportant day to day stuff a focus it's never quite earned the right to.

Things are going to look up in the second week of the month though, whilst I can promise much fun or frivolity (to those of you who haven't already booked a flight to another continent) before the 7th, there will be an uplift in week too. Sure, the earthy meet ups of Venus and Mars with water Neptune may lack some of the adventure and excitement you seek, there will at least be the opportunity to feel inspired, more creative and connected to those who are important to you. Passions will run quite high at this time too, as physical escapism provides a rather decent comparative to the more explorative impulses you have been feeing.

Although, in fact the new Moon in Aries on 16th does indicate an amenable and opportune time to jet set. Responsibilities will take a back sea anyway, when Saturn begins a retrograde motion on 18th April and unless you really do have a lot of ties and responsibilities, why not get away for a while?

Your social life starts to look up too when Venus moves into Gemini from 24th April, perfect for those of you who have decided to escape your day to day lives, and pretty good still if you're staying put for the interminable.

The first week in May is infused with harmonious aspects, as the ground begins to warm up to the Spring (in the UK), the feel good factor is beginning to spread. If you need a wild night out, either of the first two May weekends are appropriate, but the second one particularly. As Mercury meets up with Uranus, the planet of revolution, genius, chaos and freedom, this is one of your last chances to really enjoy Uranus in yours fellow fire sign, Aries. (It will dip back for a few months from November 2018 also, if you do pass up this opportunity for a little hedonism.)

The new Moon in 15th May brings your work life into the spotlight. Are you fulfilling your dreams, do you even know what it is you really want to do with your life? For the last year the nodes have been in Leo, these are actually an imaginary mathematical point but they signify your soul direction in this life. When they join up with the position of your Sun they push you to thinking about what it is you want to achieve in this life. Sometimes it helps to know where the nodes were when you were born, if you want to get a better idea of this.

{If you would like me do a £20 report about where the nodes were when you were born and what this tells us about your soul purpose, contact me at: waxlobster@hotmail.com}

Alongside the New Moon, this is the day that Uranus officially moves into Taurus, promising to change how and what we value and possibly the entire monetary system as we know it over the next 7 years! To soften the blow, Mars moves into Aquarius, the sign ruled by Uranus, making sure we still have a dose of wildness in our lives for the next few months. Aquarius is your opposite sign, and with Mars here for the majority of the next 6 months, this is the beginning of period of relationship focus for Leos.

Single Leos will be meeting a lot of potential partners at this time, at first the people you meet will probably reflect qualities in yourself you need to work on. Whilst at the end of this period there is likely a happy ending for you, this will be a journey of learning and delving deeper into what it means to connect with a significant other. For those of you in relationships already, be prepared to go more deeply into the mechanisms of how you fit one another, and areas where you both need to learn to 'shake things up' a bit. There may have been a lull in recent months, the one thing about Aquarius is it's never boring; chaotic, unpredictable, hot/cold, overly analytical, but not dull. Mid-May marks the beginning of a very interesting Summer.

Some of the seriousness will be felt towards the end of the month, lifted for you by the Full Moon in Sagittarius on 29th May. This is another date for a bit of frivolity and fun, friendships are also in the spotlight with your ruling planet, the Sun, now sociable Gemini. You will meet a lot of interesting, people at this time.

June continues a sociable focus, you are still pondering whether you're in the right career, or working towards it, and the confusion will be notable around 6th & 7th June. If you are inclined towards meditation, you will this to be a particularly fruitful pursuit from 11th June, as the planet of thought and ideas, moves into emotional Cancer.

Around the 20th and for a few days before, love will be in the picture, whether because of somebody you have met, or due to a more romantic mood that's suddenly hit you I cannot say. What is clear is that you will be looking at what you really want in a relationship. Venus in Leo from the 13th June will make you feel more attractive and charismatic in general.

During the last week of the month, you will start to notice that charm and warmth are not quite enough however, that depth, and connection are the elements that bond people together. As Mars turns retrograde on 27th June, a period of delving deeper into all these areas is just beginning.

{if you would like me to do a report on how Mars in your relationship house will affect you this Summer, then I can do so for £20, contact: waxlobster@hotmail.com}

Virgo Horoscope - April to June 2018

I know a lot of Virgos don't really love this time of year, the start of Spring, the blossoms on the trees. The truth is, it's quite a messy season really, petals everywhere, random rain showers all the time, and all the extra light just showing up the grime and extra work that needs to be done.

This April though, with Venus moving into Taurus on the 1st, you're going to be feeling a bit more relaxed, in fact you may even be inclined to take a holiday somewhere and escape from it all for a while.

The times are changing, this is quite a big Spring & Summer astrologically speaking. Most people will be feeling the pressure at the beginning of April too, with Mars and Saturn causing a little chaos, forcing people to slow down, focus and do things more accurately. You don't mind this so much, you tend to be methodical anyway in fact as a romantic haze begins to take over mid-month, alongside the New Moon in Aries it's possible you'll find the unrealistic expectations set by others are a little irritating.

Another reason this is a big year for you, Virgo, is your ruling planet Chiron, finally moves out of Pisces. It's been in your opposite sign, your sign of relationship for 7 years now, and you're fully bored of having to grow and work on yourself and how you inter-relate with your partner. Good news, this period ends on 17th April (the bad news is there will be a re-visit from Chiron to Aries later in the year, just to make sure you really have thoroughly learned all you thought you had!)

{if you'd like a personal reading explaining how Chiron falls in your personal chart and what makes it the ruler of your sign – rather than Mercury – then I can do this for £20, contact me at: waxlobster@hotmail.com}

Chiron in Aries means that more people will be irritable and snappy, but also more sensitive with one another too. Violence and aggressive behaviour will become taboo and although this is no bad thing, as we know; things do tend to get a little worse, before they truly start to right themselves.

Towards the end of the month as Venus moves in Gemini, you will be feeling good about your career. Aesthetically things will be falling into place, communication will be upbeat and positive and you will be reaping the rewards of all your hard work a little more noticeably. You've worked hard so far this year, Saturn in Capricorn has made strong work ethics your form of entertainment on some level. You do enjoy getting lost in something with is predictable, methodical and works beautifully afterwards. Appreciation for the amount you do is often overlooked, so this positive energy is very much deserved.

The Full Moon in Scorpio on 30th April highlights communication and community. We've had to deal with Mercury retrograde for the first half of April, showing up flaws and delays in as many areas as it could. Now it's moving at full speed, any areas of misunderstanding whether personally or in a work sense, can be readdressed and will become quite obvious at this point of the month.

May begins quite smoothly with a neat flow, you will be able to get things done easily and feel quite content with everyday life. Although the pressure of so much activity in Capricorn, (the house in your chart which rules fun, sports, entertainment, recreation and creativity) is making you feel a need to make all of the activities in your life have a productive outcome, you are beginning to enjoy this.

On 15th April, after 7 years in Aries, Uranus; the planet of chaos, sparks of genius, revolution and change, moves into compatible Taurus. You may well start thinking about doing a course in something you've been interested in for a while, or even take on lessons in a new language. Some Virgos will get the urge to travel and explore the world, others will do their journeys in their studies, but this will be the beginning of a period of expansion, exploration and discovery on a level you hadn't predicted.

Enjoy! Follow your dreams! You have a tendency to talk yourself out of plans which are just for you, but look at this way, the richer you are in yourself; the more you have to offer others. Whether in terms of knowledge, experience, or just inner fulfilment, it is important to put your needs and desire first for a change!

Mars connecting with your ruling planet on 20th May could indicate some decisions in this area. Certainly you will feel a bit more celebratory on the 25th as Jupiter and Neptune meet up, as if to ensure you are aware of your dreams and ready to take the steps towards giving them more of a focus in your life.

The first week in June focusses on communications and whether or not you are giving your close relationship the time and care that they need. The answer may be, “No”. Certainly on the 7th June there is an indication of demands being made of your time and resources. You sometimes forget how needy other people can be, and how much time and attention they require.

When Mercury moves into your house of friendship on 12th June, you will feel more at ease to address this deficit, although the new Moon the following day will be demanding your work focus once more.

Appeasement is well starred however, Virgo, mid June shows good strong connections and warmth with others. For single Virgos this is the best time of Spring/early Summer for you to be out and about meeting new people. You'll feel more upbeat, sociable and fun-loving at this time. (13th to 23rd June)

Things do come back down to earth at the end of June. Duties are piling up and work demands are pressing, the bubble has burst for just a little while and as Mars begins a retrograde motion in Aquarius on 27th June this will be the backdrop of the Summer. Whether readdressing the feng shui in your home (or workplace), or simply making up for a less than perfect diet over the last few months, this is the beginning of an energetic 'Spring clean'.

Shalom~~ Waxy

Libra Horoscope - April to June 2018

Those of you born in early October are probably reading this reluctantly thinking, “what next?” I know it's been stressful week or so, for all of you in one way or another. Saturn in Capricorn is making itself known, stifling your congeniality and forcing you to look at issues with home, family and areas of your past that would be more easily ignored.

I'm afraid the first week of April, further presses on these point and if you can avoid people (and potentially confrontation) on 2nd April do so.

Things ease up after this point, sure Venus moving into Taurus on 7th April may not be quite so romantic as it being in your opposite sign but the need to 'take time out' is so important for you right now, this more introspective period has come at the right time.

When Mercury ends it's retrograde period on 15th the dust will slowly begin to settle. You've had a lot of memories, old unresolved issues coming up to the surface lately, I'm happy to say that you can rest and take a back seat for most of the second half of April.

Chiron in Aries from the 17th will start up a new level of learning, but only for those of you born from 23rd to 26th September.

{Do you want to know more about how Chiron in your opposite sign from now until 2027 will change your life? Contact me for a £20 Chiron reading at: waxlobster@hotmail.com }

Easy moments will follow for most Libras from the new Moon on 16th April, followed by your ruler Venus moving into compatible Gemini on 24th April. The downturn occurs when Mars and Pluto meet up on 26th of the month, people are going to be conflictive and aggressive on this Libra. I know how uncomfortable that can make you feel and so I'm giving you a headsup to avoid the more cantankerous, confrontative and lairy types if you want to keep things peaceful. The emphasis is on the area of your chart which deals with communication, so you could be dragged unwittingly into the crossfire if you don't know to avoid.

The full Moon in your house of resources on 30th will get you thinking about how much of yourself you share; both energetically and with your finances also.

You've been assessing your friendships in the back of your mind for the last year or so, looking at who really matters to you and vice-versa. This will become more evident to you around 3rd May, and it may turn out that you are closer to some people than you knew. It’s possible you will meet somebody at this time also, who makes quite a lasting, positive influence on your life. It could be a new friend, it could be a new love, stay open minded and socialise if you have chance. The first week of May looks very promising for you Libra and this will be a continuing energy in fact. As, on 13th May, you find yourself feeling more creatively inspired than you have for a while.

Uranus, the planet of chaos, change, revolution and inspiration will be moving into Taurus from the 15th, beginning a 7 year sojourn in an area of your chart which rules the deepest connections in life. Your intuition will start to be a more reliable guide now and your psychic ability will be enhanced going forwards.

From the 19th your ruling planet, Venus moves into the area of your life governing career, enhancing your creativity in the workplace. If you run your own business, or have considered doing so, this is a great time for a launch, revamp, rebrand, or visual campaign.

Creativity will continue to peak and the 25th May is going to have a hazy romantic type of energy. For those of you in relationships, practical long-term concerns can be discussed and shared. Single Libras will be looking for long-term too, rather than casual.

The 1st of June has a particularly positive slant to it, if you do meet somebody at this time Libra, expect it to be somebody different, who has experiences that fascinate and inspire you. A holiday romance is also well featured at this time and you will be inclined towards travel in June.

From 13th to 20th June you will experience quite a rollercoaster of emotions. This is a great time to plan an adventure, but even if you stay home, this be a very eventful week. So many areas of your chart are lit up at this time, a change in your life direction is very possible. You may decide to change jobs, move house, you may fall in love, or take up a new hobby. There are many options available but with Uranus in Taurus, and your intuition so much clearer now than it has been previously, you may feel like you are guided by a higher force in the decisions you make. Synchronicities will be more frequent too.

{if you would like a £20 reading, to explain how Uranus moving into Taurus will personally affect you for the coming 7 years, contact me at: waxlobster@hotmail.com }

After the Solstice on the morning of 21st your focus will be a little more studious and practical. Changes are best made prior to this point anyway, as Mars turning retrograde in Aquarius at the end of the month, marks the beginning of period of reconsidering your domestic finances, family matters and creative plans. With the Full Moon on 28th June, capitulating and highlighting points which will require your focus over the remainder of the Summer. It will be a more introspective Summer than usual, so enjoy the freedom that June will bring you beforehand.

Forecast; Jan-March 2018 for Aries, Taurus, Gemini & Cancer

Aries Sun (applies to Aries Rising also)
January to March 2018 –

The year has begun at a high level frequency featuring ruling planet Mars marching hand in hand the most energising fellow planet; Jupiter. Working from the sun sign perspective this influence falls in the solar 8th House which puts an emphasis on shared resources, intimacy and intuitive connections. Unhealed sorrows could be fuelled by this influence; strengthened by the link up occurring in Scorpio.

Further into January, work takes centre-stage as Saturn, now in its own sign of Capricorn, reminds you that whilst you will reap what you sew, it’s only germination time. This is an ideas and initiation time; best suited to beginning new projects. Success will not yet be earned without time, effort and adequate planning. Of course, as humans, we tend to appreciate that for which we have toiled and so whilst this could be the start of a busy 2.5 years of Saturn in Capricorn, it could also be an excellent time to assert oneself career wise and status wise. Get grafting!

Ruling planet Mars moves into Sagittarius at the end of January, where it will remain until mid-March. Thoughts will move towards overseas trips, higher learning and even utilisation of ones’ knowledge for teaching others. Energies will be low mid from 15th to 21st February and this could be a good time for a trip to the sea, or indulging oneself in a spa get away. When Mars and Neptune meet up clarity can be difficult to come by, but relaxation is a breeze, especially when involving creative activity and/or water.

March as a month will be hit and miss; as random ups and downs, interlaced with coincidence and changes in fortune reign, alongside emotional upheavals. Uranus has been moving through your sign of Aries for a few years now and those of you born towards the end of the sign (14th to 21st March) will be feeling this more unpredictable undercurrent affecting your lives more now. Uranus brings great change wherever it falls, and as the planet of revolution and change it can indicate great personal changes when it links up with your Sun. Depending upon where this falls in your personal chart this can also indicate a change in external circumstance also. With Mars throwing a trine to Uranus on the 10th March will add to this, a good way to utilise all that is Uranus.
However the additional square to Chiron the following day brings sorrows, insecurity and emotional outbursts. The best way to work with Chiron is not separate the self from others, rather to recognise that we are all vulnerable, flawed and sad at times and times such as these that remind us to stay compassionate and connected.

The Month ends with Mars in Capricorn from the 18th and this will bring great energy resources. Mars is exalted (performs at its best) in Capricorn and if you want to get a lot done, this is the time to do so. With Mercury turning retrograde on 21st March, planning is the practical choice until mid-April where you have a clear 4 weeks in which to implement all of your best laid plans! This will be a very productive Spring for Aries, but a note to those born in early Aries that the stresses of Saturn in Capricorn throwing a difficult angle to your Sun cannot be ignored. You will have to work harder to prove yourself, but knowledge really *is* power and the key to Saturn is to be conscientious, studious and to allow these qualities to reign whilst they must. All will bear fruit in the long run.

To add in a note to Juno (as promised), this purposeful little asteroid will be moving though Aquarius throughout January and February bringing great social times and some convivial meet-ups with friends. As it steps into Pisces for March this will be a good time to be more aware of ones intuitive connections with others and to look at the unseen communications that occur every day without us even noticing mostly. You know how when you suddenly stare at somebody they almost always turn and look at you? Imagine how much we could use this kind of energy emitting from our eyes and aura if we actually honed it? Test it out a little this March, see if it works for you.

Taurus Sun (also applies to Taurus Rising)
January to March 2018 –

For Taurus the high octane start to 2018; with Mars and Jupiter the most energetic and expressive planets linked up together in Scorpio, emphasises the partnerships area of your chart. It is worth noting that your personal chart will differ, but from a perspective of simply considering your Sun Sign of Taurus, this denotes a very upbeat, jovial and passionate period between yourself and those closest to you.

As we look forwards to the rest of January, I will look to Juno; the asteroid I am experimentally using as the ruler of Taurus. You will have been told that Taurus is ruled by Venus in the past, but have you noticed this doesn’t quite describe you correctly? Juno relates to enduring love, the kind of earthy grounded devotion which is required for a relationship to last the distance. On this basis, Juno is also about physical nourishment (nutrition and health, and the unconditional self-sacrifice required for true compromise. Over the years there have been many articles based around Juno denoting how one actually loves, (as opposed to Venus – what one looks for aesthetically and Mars- what draws us passionately) Juno is supposed to be about the ingredients required for real, earthy, human based love. Where Juno falls in your chart tells all about what kind of a mate you are actually compatible with, as opposed to the more superficial notion of having ‘a type’.

So on this note I am using Juno as the new ruler of Taurus, having noted how powerfully important the position of this asteroid is in synastry (the astrological study of compatibility between two people’s charts in relationship to one another).

Juno begins 2018 in Aquarius, where it remains until 23rd February. This is the career house from the Taurus Sun perspective and so will feel in effect as if you are, ‘married to your job’ at the beginning of the year. Your commitment to your work will be tested at the beginning of the year, this can apply equally to parenthood for those of you with children. In effect the career house ‘how one is seen in the world’, relates very much to how children view their parents; as for dependants their parents or guardians are, in effect, their world. So equally if your ‘job’ is to be a parent, this will be the main focus of the first 6 weeks of 2018.

The social sphere will take off after the 23rd February as there are more community event and friend get-togethers. Responsibilities have eased off a little and this lighter note will be effect throughout March also, removing a little of the tension from work and bringing a sense of social and environmental conscientiousness to the fore.

A main event to note also is that Saturn moved into Capricorn at the end of December, of note to us all, as Saturn rules Capricorn and will be suitably judicious during it 2.5 year sojourn. This puts an emphasis on studies and travel, though not for pleasure. Saturn is all about gravitas and responsibility, and so whilst thoughts towards higher learning may be of interest, the purpose of study and even travel choices, will be part of a longer term plan, rather than pleasure.

It can also be that expertise you have amassed in any areas over the years could be utilised more effectively during Saturn’s time in Capricorn. If you’ve been considering doing a TEFAL course, or looking into overseas conservation issues now is the time to begin, especially during February and March for the latter.

Uranus is still sitting tight in Aries until May and this may feel as if you have little control on the outer events of your life. Tranquil time is key, we are creating more than we know, but there’s a part of us which is always aware. Tune into this and the world can be your oyster this year!

Gemini Sun (also applies to Gemini Rising)
January to March 2018 –

Your ruling planet, Mercury begins the year in your opposite sign of Sagittarius. From a sun sign perspective (your personal chart is likely to be different) this is the house ruling partnership and close associates, so there should be good levels of communication to begin the year.

The Mars-Jupiter conjunction in Scorpio which occurred during week 1 was in your 6th House, so focus around day to day domestic duties may have stolen the focus. It’s always a good time of year to think about feng shui, in the aftermath of the most consumerist time of year, bought into by so many, clutter can be a very basic side-effect. The basis of feng shui is entirely logical, we all know that if we are sat with our back to the door there is a slightly uncomfortable feeling when the door opens behind us. Or there is that untidy person who leaves their bag to trip over in the hallway. We all need basic order in our homes with natural light, air clearing plants and natural energy flow from space to space. Gemini is one of the more scatter brained signs and can certainly benefit from a little bit of thought around this area and that of domestic finances and overall health.

Mercury moves into Capricorn on 12th January, linking up with Saturn over the weekend further the practical mindset. This is a time to go out celebrating, Saturn is about structure, planning and establishing oneself in life. Saturn moved into its home sign of Capricorn at the end of December and will remain there for the next 2.5 years, this coming weekend will bring the first psychological acknowledgement of the switch between relationship issues and the practical side of sharing life, resources and energetic space with another. Saturn will be in your solar 8th House for this period (very likely this will be a different place in your personal chart) and will be bringing responsibilities to the fore in the area of planned finances (i.e. pensions, insurance and formal arrangements) as there is always the consideration of loss and fear of change when Saturn associates with this area of the chart. The message of Saturn is, “the more you plan; the less there is to fear” and also, “the harder you work; the greater the reward.”

Mercury moves into Aquarius neatly on the 1st February, gaining speed on Venus, already in Aquarius. These two are going to be moving closer together throughout the month bringing more charisma and creativity to us all. You’ll be in good spirits and the end of last year was a stressful one for Geminis (with Mercury retrograde conjunct Saturn throughout November and December). The raincloud has finally dissipated and it’s time for a bit of relaxation!

Later in February (from 18th) is the perfect time to book a holiday, Mercury will still be hurtling through the zodiac with Venus at the helm. Mercury and Venus are such a congenial pair, and together in Pisces the end of February will be very uplifting. It’s a creative, imaginative and inspiring time, excellent for those who seek romance, so simply wish to bring a little more love and kindness into every day life.

It’s a short trip before Mercury moves into Aries on the 7th March, but long enough for a decent holiday. The rest of March will be more about work and responsibilities and energies will be high (except around the 8th & 9th which will could be quite stressful and any recent mistakes made will come under scrutiny). Uranus has been in your career house now for a few years and this period is set to end in May 2018, so if you do want to bring forth any big changes in situ the end of March will be the time to beginning planning them (although they should be initiated until mid April).

You may be aware that your ruling planet goes into retrograde motion 3 times a year? The 23rd March marks the next period, and is the reflective time. As a Gemini you have a keen, quick intellect, and are not prone to revising or sense-checking your choices. Hence, these Mercury retrograde periods are set aside to ensure that you do spend the time reviewing and refining all that has occurred during the previous 3 months. It may seem frustrating and dull to do so, but without a little introspection and consideration our progress could never be properly directed or appreciated..

Cancer Sun (also applies to Cancer Rising)
January to March 2018 –

As mentioned for the other signs there was quite an energetic start to the year with the most expressive fiery planets; Mars and Jupiter meeting up in Scorpio. This was a harmonious energy from one water sign to another and so hopefully your year got off to a very positive beginning.

Currently brought back down to earth this week by the Sun and Venus both lingering around Saturn which has recently moved into Capricorn your opposite sign.

You may well find that your natal chart does not show this as your 7th House (unless you have Cancer Rising) however as this is written from the perspective of the Sun sign the area of your chart currently under the spotlight is that of partnerships. Saturn entered Capricorn, the sign it rules, at the end of December and will remain here for the next 2.5 years bringing a serious tone to relationships. Those of you already in a long term relationship will be considering formalising this, and for those of you who aren’t you will likely be looking for a partner with whom you can settle down.

Saturn isn’t in any way romantic or whimsical, so the considerations will have a practical and financial concern. The New Moon on 19th January at 28 Capricorn further emphasises this point, although as it forms a harsh angle to Uranus which doesn’t bode well for formalised plans, in the fact the contrary could be the case and it’s possible some Cancerians will terminate less fulfilling relationships at this point, or indeed find that their partner decides they want out!

The Lunar Eclipse on 31st January will fall in Leo and, as always with eclipses, will be powerful. Especially for those who have a personal planet at around 11 Leo. On a general note this falls in the 2nd House for the Cancer Sun sign. The 2nd House is concerned with how we primarily relate the physical world, and so it rules feelings, sensory perceptions, and all that we own. Possessions and finances are involved with this house and there could be changes in this area of your life around this time. Perhaps you will decide to divide up resources, or changes your income stream, refurbish your home, or start looking after your body in a more nourishing way. Whilst this all sounds positive, do note that eclipses are to do with endings. There could be some need to let go of something or someone in your life around this time.

This is followed up by the partial solar eclipse on 15th February in Aquarius, which probably won’t create the most romantic backdrop for this years’ Valentine’s Day (although since this day always puzzlingly falls in one of the least romantic signs of the zodiac, this is frequently the case!). Again there is a sense of letting go and in some ways a connection to finances. Look within. Have you outgrown certain areas of your life? Is it time to move on, or declutter your life (physically or metaphorically)? Cancerians are known for being adverse to change, but in life we often find it a whole lot easier to follow choices that we have made ourselves, than those that are forced upon us.

There is a supportive backdrop with Jupiter remaining in Scorpio mid-late Summer and Neptune moving through Pisces, both very sympathetic fellow water signs. Uranus in Aries has brought a little chaos of late but soon (May 2018) that too will be moving into a sign that resonates more easily with your own.

Later born Cancerians will find this a more complex period with both Uranus and Pluto causing consternation and confusion on many levels, early Cancerians will be feeling the force of Saturn opposing your Sun and the hard work and pressure which are inevitable; whether due to successful endeavours, or due to having to make up for times where you have previously lacked initiative and application.

For March the full Moon at the beginning on the 2nd will bring a more harmonious and relaxed energy, as you find yourself feeling more connected to your surroundings and more interested in connecting and communicating with friends.

If you need to get away then the New Moon in 17th March in your 9th House of travel and further learning bodes well. Note that with Mercury retrograde at this time extra planning and attention may be required, but so long as you double-check everything this shouldn’t be too much of an issue and this year has not begun as simply as you hoped. Maybe mark the Spring Solstice on 21st March as your new start instead, as Mars bringing fresh energy into Capricorn gives you drive and pizazz you have been waiting for.

New Moon in Libra, Jupiter begins a year in Scorpio

The new moon today will occur at 8:12pm, UK time and falls at 26’35 Libra, which is almost precisely opposite Uranus; currently at 26’31 Aries.

The precept of a new Moon, is that it symbolises a new beginning, phase and cycle. Although we have one every 29.5 days, they fall in different areas of the sky, forming different inter-planetary aspects and hence, have an entirely different emphasis.

The basic principles of Libra are around love, harmony, balance, appeasement, compromise and justice. Ruled by Venus (and the only sign ruled by Venus under the single rulership system that I work to) it is worth noting the position of Venus in this chart is also in Libra. Venus is moving away from a conjunction with Mars which was active earlier in the month and towards a square to Juno in Capricorn.

Immediately this indicates signs of a shift as Venus – the love planet – transfers it’s allegiance from the passions and energetic frequencies of Mars; to a more constructive committed kind of allegiance, aka Juno. As an asteroid Juno is associated with the ideal partner; and where it falls in the natal chart shows more about what we need in order to form a long relationship, which can be quite different from what we actually think we desire! Juno in itself shows a level of truth and higher awareness that circumnavigates the psyche and our known consciousness. Add this to the current position of Juno, which is Capricorn and we have thoughts of commitment and stability bolted onto longevity and practicality, coming to the forefront of priorities around the time of this new Moon. The actual contact between Venus and Juno will occur on the 23rd October, so thoughts of this nature will be most notable from 21st to 25th October, although it is fair to consider them activated at the point of the new Moon itself.

Last week on Tuesday 10th October, Jupiter to moved into Scorpio for the first time in 12 years and it shall remain there until 8th November 2018. Jupiter always spends a year in each sign and blends its optimistic buoyance to the nature of the sign in question. Ruling, as it does, higher education, learning, humour, good fortune and the laws of attraction (i.e. like attracts like) it should be an interesting journey through Scorpio. We already have seen a hint of what to expect with the news emphasis upon the Harvey Weinstein scandals and whilst this began a little before Jupiter moved into the sign (of Scorpio) which rules sex, death, hidden truths and transformation, this is likely to mark the beginning of a year of similar discoveries. Jupiter will always ‘expand’ whatever it touches, for better or for worse, although one could argue that truth and exposure almost always turns out for the better and Jupiter is predominantly linked to very positive experiences.

For those born with Jupiter in Scorpio, this period heralds a new phase of luck, good fortune and the potential for increased financial achievement. Indeed, for those aged; 11-12, 23-24, 35-36, 47-48, 59-60, 71-72 and so on, this could be quite a fortuitous year. To learn more of the effects, it is important to consider the condition of Jupiter in the natal chart (the snapshot of the time you were born), but in general this is a good year to risk following your dreams. Wherever Jupiter strings it's Sagittarian style bow; optimism and ensuing success are sure to follow.

The new Moon falls in mentionable proximity to Jupiter in early Scorpio, although a little beyond the classic 4º orb that astrologers tend to regard as potent, at less than 6º from the Sun-Moon conjunct to Juipter, this will be the closest embellishment we will have this year. I, for one, will be making my new Moon wish with the benefic presence of Jupiter’s uplifting influence in mind.

To provide more background information about Jupiter in Scorpio, as Jupiter also rules research and academic furtherment; I would expect some scientific focus over the next year upon what happens when we die (spiritually and physically), more sex abuse allegations coming to light, some unprecedented endings and further proof of quantum energy forces and how much more reliant we are upon them than we realise.

To look further at the new Moon chart itself we have to again note how close the opposition to Uranus is, and how this itself will create a see-saw between the harmonious, peace-making tendencies of Libra, and the more warrior-like competitive nature of Aries. When Uranus is in the mix, expectations are rendered irrelevant and whilst this can be deemed a good thing overall, a certain level of insecurity and anxious uncontrolled energy fission will therefore become inevitable also.

Uranus is the planet which rules upheaval, revolution, electricity, sparks of illuminative genius and rules Aquarius. Without Uranus life becomes stagnant and dull, with too much Uranus things are exciting but can be cold and austere at the same time.

On this basis it is difficult to predict how this new Moon will manifest; although innocuous in nature in and of itself, the opposition to Uranus does increase the likelihood of unexpected events and occurrences. Here in the UK we have more storms predicted and no doubt they will be a little more vociferous than those which just passed, as the Sun’s opposition to Uranus at this point will still be fully activated.

Jupiter in Scorpio will continue to ensure that hidden truths are revealed and any corner cutting exercises are exposed and vilified. A situation which is increasingly possible in the modern technological world we live in. The downside of Scorpio is also the revengeful stagnant potential of the sign, we've all heard of Scorpios having a 'sting in their tail' and certainly these kinds of tendencies for retaliation or grudge holding may become more of a societal prevalence. Of course this also has it's upside however; as accommodating, hopeful sign of Libra has encouraged passivity and mass acceptance of some dreadful political and globally alarming situations. Perhaps the more upfront, strident influence of Scorpio will cause a more reactive and confrontative stance in areas which are important.

The most interesting point of this Jupiter in Scorpio cycle will be in January when it joins forces with Mars to connect up with the Sun-Pluto conjunction at that time (more about that closer to the time). As it is, we are currently moving out of a very heavy week; illustrated by Mars square Saturn and opposing Chiron. Saturn which is about structures, defenses and commerce has been metaphorically squaring up to Chiron; the wounded healer, which shows us the areas in our lives where we feel vulnerable, lacking and unworthy. These two niggling together, and having been triggered by responsive Mars, have illustrated the areas in which we are least happy with ourselves and our lives.

This isn't a major new Moon chart, but it does bridge a gap between a week which has been intrinsically insidious and a start to a more stridently expressive situation of Scorpio truths and more constructive activism.

Peace, truth and love to all~~~~♥

New Moon at 21:44 at 10° Leo – What you resist persists

This new Moon, meeting up with the Sun in fiery Leo tilts the balance of planets into the fire signs. With the Moon making its impact; by joining up with the Sun, Venus continues her sojourn further into the sign at; 22° Leo. The timing of this new Moon, also coincides Mars’ recent return to Sagittarius – also on Tuesday 2nd August, after its long backwards dip into Scorpio. As mentioned in previous articles, Mars was retrograde from 18th April 2016 until 30th June 2016. It had reached 8° Sagittarius at the time of its retrograde and so will still be in the so called ‘shadow of the retrograde until it returns to that point on 22nd August. Still, with Mars back in Sagittarius, energies are higher and anything which has been moving slowly in your life over the last few months will start to gather momentum again.

Saturn is also in Sagittarius, interestingly sitting at 9° very close to the retrograde point for the whole of the month of August as it slows down, ready to turn to forward motion itself. If you have any planets around 8-9° Sagittarius, these are significantly highlighted, once again (just as they were in April). For those of you born around 30th November, that would be the position of your Sun at birth, so most likely this has been a very low energy year for you so far. Do look at what comes up in August in this case, you will learn far more from observing other areas of your life which come to the fore. There is no need to fight against what should be, if you’re tired then rest. Rather than be frustrated look at what IS working for you and embrace it.

In the new Moon chart Neptune sits angularly on the ascendant throwing quite a dampener on the usually energetic Sun-Moon conjunction in Leo. Confusion is the theme of this new Moon, this is not a time to begin something constructive or to make a wish. Neptune always brings a deeper, spiritual and emotional tint to whatever it connects. It is linked to confusion and deception, because we live in a world where facts and figures are valued more highly than creativity, but really Neptune is about all that is elevated and of a higher frequency.

There is a bit of a conflict of interest however, as the Sun-Moon in Leo fall in the detail oriented 6th House implying that facts and figures at this time may well be obfuscated and unavailable. As always, if flowing with the cycles choosing to allow a more creative approach to what is usually mundane will work incredibly well at this time.

I personally postponed the tidying and plant repotting that I need to do to coincide with the new moon and allow new energy to flow more freely around my space. Feng Shui is very important to procure new energy and allow change to occur, and this new Moon favours energetically enhancing ones’ personal space. Whilst many of the more constructive parts of our lives may not be easy to navigate at this time, there is a great deal of cleansing energy which can be worked with and utilized at this time.

A bit of a clean, a move around, to bring new kinds of energy into stagnant areas of your life will work well at this time. This isn’t a time for constructive thought and there won’t be a feeling of great action and celebration in the usual new Moon in Leo sense. Allow action to take place where it is needed, let go of anything which doesn’t seem to be flowing at this time and this can be a very positive new Moon.

August is quite a static month as we wait for Mars to reach as far in Sagittarius and Saturn sits tight awaiting Mars to surge past on 24th August. After which things will begin moving so quickly it will be a very exciting an eventful Autumn.

Enjoy the rest, don’t fight the forces of nature and this can be a tranquil, uplifting and inspiring new Moon time.
